Bloodbath at Volganof

I play Black Templars so it should come as no surprise I like castles. So when visiting the Games Workshop website today I stumbled across some awesome terrain from Warhammer World. Below are the pictures with their original captions by Andy...

Volganof was constructed ('modelled' just doesn't do this behemoth justice) by the Studio's terrain masters Dave Andrews and Mark Jones. Amazingly, 99% of the city was made from Citadel scenery sets (albeit with a heavy dose of kit-bashing), which means you could, with a little thought, make your very own Volganof.

The top part of the large tower was made by stacking two Watchtowers on top of a Fortress Tower section.

The lower section of the large tower incorporates a Watchtower, three Fortress Tower sections and a Chapel.

Volganof's battlements are studded with cannons (taken from the Empire Cannon kit) and heroic statutes from the Chapel kit, stood atop pillars from the Arcane Ruin set.

The gate section was made using two Fortress Tower sections and a cut-down Gateway section. Mark and Dave also attached the outhouse from the Fortified Manor House set to the sides of the towers.
