The interwebz has been rather quite this week with the lead up to Adepticon. However, due to having no uni for the week was able to spend more time than usual hunting suitable posts. Below is the collection of what I was able to find...
New Game Board In Progress by LuckyNo.5 from Eye of Error - Can I just say wow... not only does this game board look stunning. But take a look at the rest of LuckyNo.5's collection of terrain pieces. His Hall of Judges is something I especially like. And then when you have done that take a look at his miniatures. His entire collection is just stunning. I swear I'm not jealous...
Levers and handles! by AJ from AJ's gaming world - Besides the blurry pictures this is a great tutorial that could easily fit in with Sandwyrm's set-back Chimera. Of course it isn't limited to just tanks. Could easily be used for things like bunkers, bastions or even outhouses.
Hi-Tech Miniatures Resin Banner Review by Old School Terminator from Dark Future Games - I can remember when I first found out about Hi-Tech Miniatures last year. That was back when their range was limited to only a select few pieces. But in that time it has grown. And with that has come some stunning miniatures such as this Templar themed shield bearer.
Back to Basics: Deployment 102 - Line deployments by Kirby from the Pinktastic Blog - An article by Kirby that looks at the pros and mainly cons of deploying in a line. Of course remember that some armies don't have a choice when it comes to line deployment.
Comparison: small and large Marine squads by Kirby from the Pinktastic Blog - I felt a little neglected in this article with Kirby omitting Black Templars. I suspect it is because he didn't consider them... but with the ability to min/max their squads they are one of the best at bringing MSU. Our biggest down side is our relatively expensive Rhinos. Just keep in mind that MSU Templars do not belong in multiple close combats as they are fearless. So unless you know you will win don't get involved. Other than the omission of Templars and Dark Angels this is a good read.
Revisiting some pale skin techniques by Ron from Black Dot Barrel Studios - Both the tutorial on achieving pale Raven Guard and Dark Eldar faces have appeared on the blog. I think. But the stubble tutorial is a new one. And as always Ron has thrown in some little tips and tricks for painters to achieve a nice above average table top army without spending hours painting a single miniature.
A Gift For Mech Players by Sandwyrm from The Back 40K - A nice little template that can be printed off. An alternative to printing off your craters is to make them like CVinton did here over on Dark Future Games. I am a fan of the more realistic style craters... however, I can understand the need for craters that have the exact same dimensions as Rhinos/Chimera.
Tiered Missions: An analysis by Kirby from the Pinktastic Blog - A third article by the Pink One...
