Weekly Finds #35

Yay!!! I've somehow managed to survive all of my exams as well as everything else going on in life. Which has been alot. Haven't played a single game in almost two months and hardly touched a miniature. However, alot of my orders from eBay have come in and my Wayland Games order was shipped last week. So should have lots of plastic, metal and resin crack to work on during my university break.

Heroes of Armageddon: Chapter Banner by Ron from FTW - This looks stunning. Ron did an amazing job when it came to planning out this project. The attention to detail is just great and will make a great centre piece to the final army when it all comes together.

Working with Plasticard: A How-To Guide by CVinton from Dark Future Games - Haven't had the opportunity to work with plastic card yet, but the list of useful items is great. The advice on just scoring the plasticard and then bending it is something I've read in other guides in the past... something to keep in mind whenever I get around to giving the stuff a go.

WIP Sanguinary Phalanx Honour Guard by Maz from Winterdyne Commission Modelling - I showed the work in progress pictures of the Chapter Master several weeks ago. For those curious here he is completed. Looking forward to watching the progress on the honour guard. I especially like the look of the spear of the Blood Champion.

Do Not Miss: June by Volomir from Volomir's Blog - The cloak pictured below has been painted by Javier González. When you look at the entire miniature you get the feeling no matter how hard you try your miniatures will never reach that sort of level. Feeling gets worse when you realise that this miniature isn't even  on the tip of the iceberg. However, guides like this one by Chris from bestienmeister will be helpful in taking the first steps in the right direction.

The Artillery Train of Nuln by Dave Taylor from davetaylorminiatures - Not only is Dave leading one of the build teams for Heroes of Armageddon project, but he has also been working on his own Armies of Parade project. Can explain this shear strength and determination on the way the young are raised in Ozlandus... some say it can best be compared to the trials that a Neophyte go through.

Finding it hard to resist the urge to start up a Warhammer Fantasy army with stunning pictures of Dave's miniatures as well as the upcoming release of Storm of Magic... the Dark Elves miniatures look great.
