Imperial Fist Captain by Luther from The Mighty Brush - I was googling for individuals that have used Vallejo Flat Yellow for their Imperial Fists when I found this miniature. The technique is different to my own. But it gives me some ideas for weathering.
- a looney journey for the advanced gamer from twelve years of age to one hundred and fifty and for that more competitive sort of gamer who likes challenges

Using Foamcore: Part 1 by Universal Head from The Esoteric Order of Games - I stumbled across this amazing website while looking for a way to store my Space Hulk. I've settled on the Battlefoam Tray insert. However, there is soooo much awesome contained in this website and associated forum. I'll have to get myself set up to create some foamcore inserts for my growing collection of board games.

Alpha Legion Praetor and Apothecaries by Marc Raley from Marc Raley Miniatures - I stumbled across this blog by chance thanks to Dave Taylor. The entire blog is full of some great conversions and painting. I particularly like the three conversions below as they are all so simple yet full of character. Can see an example of the work-in-progress of one of the apothecaries here.
More Thallax by Dave Taylor from Dave Taylor Miniatures - Yet more of Dave Taylor's bronze army. I'm sure that there are others equally jealous of this growing collection of resin goodness.
Orgotts Daemonspew by Dan Harden from What's New Today - I remember once upon a time Games Workshop had free articles on converting and painting unique miniatures/armies. They even had free rules for wacky conversions and campaigns. Those aren't gone... they just come in the form of supplements and expansions a.k.a micro-transactions. Instead we have these amazing Youtube videos that go into great detail on how to paint some of the latest miniatures... yet the haters still hate.

Stormtrooper Secret
Massive Voodoo is an amazing blog that I encourage everybody in our little online community to subscribe and/or follow. It may be orientated towards producing amazing miniatures, but then, amazingly painted armies make our games with little pieces of plastic all the better.
But that isn't what this post is about, as the title and Youtube Video below may suggest. This is about aawesome jawsome music video that Roman from Massive Voodoo shared with his Jungle friends...
To see the behind the scenes video of this hilarious merging of nerd culture with various themes from modern music then click here.

Game of Thrones - Season 4 Trailer #1
And so it has begun...
It is a blessing in disguise that this is being released while I'm on my honeymoon. Means that when I get back there will be several episodes to watch. As opposed to last year where I had to wait for a weekly update. Still haven't decided if I'll get the books before or after the TV series completes.

I'm off to do my Advance Life Support Course today. And while I'm off learning how to save lives, I figured my imaginary friends can also do some learning with Vinnie Jones...

Weekly Finds
This week I take a step away from the forums and blog-o-sphere to instead take a look at Youtube. Not just any Youtube channel mind you. This week we take a look at Games Workshop's own channel to look at their latest technical paints...
The first of Games Workshop's six Youtubevideos reviews adverts. It is no secret that I'm a fan of applying weathering to miniatures to add realism. This new paint, indeed this collection of technical paints, are a great way to help new and old painters alike add some realism to their miniatures. Of course, this isn't the only way to add the appearance of blood to your miniatures. Mad Matt has his tutorial on creating blood. And then there is the Tamiya Clear Red approach as seen here and here.
This is possibly my favourite of the new paints as it offers a quick and easy way of adding weathering to bronze statues and decorations. I'm looking forward to see how the forum members of the Bolter & Chainsword manage to go about using these new paints in bringing the Adeptus Astartes to table tops.

This is a song that can regularly heard in the background of my place after I introduced it to my fiancée several weeks ago...

Music Monday - The Fox by Ylvis
One of the girls from work played this for our amusement on a night shift...
Ylvis' other songs are equally silly and worth taking a look at.

Hairspray Technique by Scale Model Medic from Youtube - This popped up on the side bar while watching Youtube the other day. This technique is nothing new to me, having seen it and the salt technique on Massive Voodoo several times as well as other great hobby sites. However, with Templars Crusade's Youtube vlog getting me motivated to work on my Imperial Fists, this is a technique I plan on using extensively. Especially, after seeing how heavily weathered BCK got his White Scar Space Marine using this technique.
Face Painting by Iguazzu from Massive Voodoo - Painting face can be a challenge. And although this video tutorial uses a different scale to what many of my imaginary friends would be used to... it helps highlight some of the points to face painting that other professional painters have also suggested in their tutorials.
