Weekly Finds #95

This last week I've been thinking of ways to add individuality to each of my Black Templars... there are only so many ways you can mix together the Space Marine kits. This is especially true for the now outdated Black Templars Upgrade Kit which offers static poses when compared to the newer Chapter Specific kits. My usual place for inspiration is Mad Matt's collection of Black Templars. However, I wanted to find something different. So I set out into the vast interwebz...

Black Templars High Marshal by Bohun from Cool Mini Or Not - A simple kit bash using Commander Cullen. However, it is the freehand details that draw me in. The entire miniature is covered in it... yet it doesn't look too busy or overcrowded. Something to consider when it comes to painting Independent Characters.

Black Templars Marshal Redeux by Cypher Codicer from Deviant Art - This is a bloody awesome kit bash. The old metal Grey Knight torso works great with the addition of the high collar and the centre piece shield. The collar sort of reminds me of something that Freak Forge did... although this conversion is neater. An earlier Work in Progress of this conversion can be seen here.

Space Marine Chaplain by Ron from FTW - I've featured this conversion in Weekly Finds before. However, it came up in my search and seeing the knee pads got me thinking of the armour on the Ultramarines in the game Space Marines.

Fortress of Anguish by Pizzasemmel from Warseer - The detail work on this Land Raider Crusader is both over the top awesome AND weird. Some elements work great such as the huge banner and the hull mounted flamestorm cannon. While the hurricane bolters look weird with their own little banners. It looks more like a cathedral than a fortress. Pizzasemmel is also responsible for this life size chainsword.

Angels of Vengeance by Brother Chaplain Kage from The Bolter & Chainsword - The torso in this conversion is far too big for my own tastes. However, the style is very knightly and would fit in well with Black Templars. Even better, it offers a way out of having to sculpt tabards. Something I know I'd fail horribly at. Also take a look at this amazing conversion by Chris Borer of his take on the Angels of Vengeance Chapter Master.

Fratricide by Chris Borer from Full Borer Miniatures - This is the sort of inspiration I was looking for. it takes pieces from the standard tactical box set and offers ways to give them individual looks. The chest piece bellow is my favourite element. It uses everything I have in my collection and with some practice is something achievable. Chris Borer is also responsible for this amazing sculpt which was included in the Heroes of Armageddon Project. A must have for any Imperial Guard player.

Black Templar Terminator Squad by Dante77 from Cool Mini Or Not - If I understand the interwebz correctly this is the guy who taught Mad Matt how to paint his Black Templars. The resemblance between the two armies is obvious. However, these Terminator conversions fall flat on their face in comparison to the work of Rune Cast who has been creating Mad Matt's Terminators.

Forge World Large Scale Space Marine by k.ronte from Flagelante Feliz Club - This is an amazing conversion... and it reinforces some observations I've made. Such as sculptors add in more yellow than blue epoxy to their green stuff mix.

Forge World: Horus Heresy Trailer

It's hard to imagine that Space Marines could get even better next month with Dark Vengeance Box Set being released. But Forge World has managed to achieve just that with their announcement of the first instalment in their Horus Heresy Series...

It helps explain why Forge World has been putting out so many pre-heresy kits of late... I'm looking forward to seeing what else they have planned.

A Peek Under The Hood by izeColt from Spiky Rat Pack - Interesting concept... reminds me of John Blanche's weird and wacky artwork. But then again, izeColt has been heavily influenced by John Blanche's work.

Pigment Bases by Morback from Le Blog de Kouzes - I've seen several tutorials on applying pigments to miniatures especially tanks. But applying it to bases is something I can't recall seeing. As the below picture highlights very well, it is a technique that can really make a base pop.

How to Draw Skulls Forge World Style by Ron from FTW - These are more than just Forge World Skulls. These are Games Workshop's signature skulls. Pictures of these can be seen throughout codices and rule books. If I ever getting around to collecting and then painting an Imperial Guard army these skulls will decorate all of the vehicles...

Crimson Fist Forgeworld Apothecaries WIP by Sigur from Tale of Painters - Some of my favourite Forge World miniatures. Can't wait to see how these turn up when completed. The rest of Sigur's Crimson Fists are great... a little over the top when it comes to the weathering... but they look like they have been to hell and back. Something that all Space Marines should look like.

Scratchbuilt Inquisitor Mystic & Tools Review by Ron from FTW - This is possibly the best conversion Ron has produced to date. It just screams Grim Dark. Another "tentacle" maker is Masquerade Miniatures which offers three different sizes. Masquerade Miniatures also have another tool to consider when it comes to making unique, scratch built miniatures with their aptly named fur pattern tool... it doesn't make fur, rather it produces results that are similar to the texture of fur.

            This weeks’ newsletter features a MkIV Space Marine Command Set and a sheet of Etched Brass Minotaurs Symbols, both available to pre-order now. We’ve also got an events update for you, as July sees the beginning of the Games Day season, starting off with Games Days in Spain and North America.
         
MkIV Space Marine Command Set

Each Company in a Space Marine Chapter falls under the command of a Captain, a hardened veteran and a master strategist. These lords of war read the battlefield’s ebb and flow with enhanced reflexes and a post-human grasp of the ever-changing arena of combat in which they spend their lives.

This miniature has some great elements such as the torso and the sword. However, the fact he is carrying his helmet just ruins it for me. I'm a fan of crests on Space Marine helmets. Hopefully, the arms are separate. Which is a shame because I like the cloak draped over just one shoulder. 

In addition to his Chapter rank, each Captain may also bear additional honorific titles and epithets associated with both his deeds of valour and the Company he leads. Each is often accompanied by a Standard Bearer, carrying the battle-flag of the company, invariably steeped in history and heavy with the glories of the Chapter.

The MkIV Space Marine Command Set, designed by Mark Bedford, contains two multi-part resin models, allowing you to build a Space Marine Commander and Standard Bearer in MkIV ‘Maximus’ Armour.
This detailed set of miniatures is available to pre-order, for despatch from Friday 29th June.

Etched Brass Minotaurs Symbols

The Minotaurs are a Space Marine Chapter of dark renown, infamous for their cold and brutal methods of war, their mastery of siege craft and their malign and bitter paranoia even when fighting alongside allies.

This sheet of Etched Brass Minotaurs Symbols, designed by Kenton Mills, contains 60 individual Chapter icons, blazons and symbols suitable for use on Space Marine infantry and vehicles from shoulder pads, greaves and chest plates to doors and other vehicle panels. I particularly like the use on the banner... something I'll be using in future projects.

This detailed set of etched brass symbols is available to pre-order now for despatch from Friday 29th June.

Forge World Events News

Games Day Spain and North America Reservation Orders now being taken. Forge World are hitting the road in July with Games Day season beginning across the globe! Sunday 1st July will see Forge World staff, including designer Mark Bedford, travelling to El Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona for Games Day Spain. Meanwhile, on Saturday 28th July, we’ll be making our way to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Chicago, IL for Games Day North America. For this event our intrepid team will be joined by writer Alan Bligh and miniatures designer Phil Stutcinskas.

As always we will be bringing a huge selection of our range of resin kits, modelling supplies and books, and we’re now accepting reservation orders for both these events. A reservation order is the best way to ensure that we will have the exact products that you want, packed and waiting for you to collect. To place a reservation order, please send an e-mail to forgeworld@gwplc.com titled ‘Games Day Spain Reservation’ for Games Day Spain, or ‘Games Day Chicago Reservation’ for Games Day North America. We will require your full name, a contact telephone number and the list of kits you’d like to order. You can also telephone the Forge World customer service team on 011 44 115 900 4995 from the US and Canada or 00 44 115 900 4995 from much of Europe to place a reservation order. Forge World Open Day 2012

The guys over at What's New Today have managed to post their pictures of this years Forge World Open Day several days behind the rest of the world... as always my own looney thoughts are in purple italics.

The other weekend was the Forge World Open Day here at Warhammer World and for those of you that got to pay us a visit, you'll know just how busy it was. Damn my forefathers for leaving England... if only I lived there to visit Warhammer World. For many it was an opportunity to get their hands on the latest Forge World models, for others it was a chance to chat to the designers about their latest creations. For most it was both.

In the Forge World Studio area many of the designers, writers and artists were busy talking about their latest work or showing off their craft. As you can see from the pictures above, Rhys Pugh and Sam Lamont were busy working on their latest pieces of art - we weren't quite sure what they were creating, but it looked dark, evil and fiery - an upcoming Warhammer Forge book perhaps?

Will Hayes chatted about his latest designs while a nearby Phantom Titan watched over the growing crowds. There was even a fully painted version on the Doom of Mymeara display board. If you look at the picture you'll get an idea of the huge scale of the model - that tiny speck next to its foot is an Eldar Guardian. Very cool display...

Darren Parrwood tried to avoid having his picture taken, but sadly for him he didn't quite escape in time - don't worry Darren, it's a good picture, you handsome devil. If you scroll towards the end of the gallery you'll see a picture of his latest project - an Imperial flier... which makes me think of an Imperial version of the Warthog with it's nose mounted cannon.

Two men that need no introduction are Mark Bedford and Phil Stutcinskas (though I have inadvertently introduced them now...). When they're not designing new miniatures, Phil and Mark sometimes run Painting Masterclass' at Warhammer World. Damn you Forefathers. They are also working on Imperial Armour Modelling Masterclass Vol.II, a mighty tome full of useful modelling and painting information - a must-have for all serious hobbyists. We'll keep you updated when we find out more about it.

Next to Mark and Phil were Blake Spence and Alan Bligh. Blake is the man behind the Zone Mortalis - the latest scenery pieces from Forge World. But Blake isn't finished yet - he's still got plenty more scenery to work on, some of which you'll see later this year. Meanwhile, Alan was chatting about his latest books - Tamurkhan and the Monstrous Arcanum. He was also sitting proudly next to one of Forge World's latest kits - the Storm Eagle. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on one of those kits.

Many of you thought that it was an April Fool's joke, but no, it's real and available to pre-order on the Forge World website right now. In fact, here's a video to show you a bit more about it:

On another note, Forge World will also be present at both the Salute and Adepticon conventions which take place at the end of the month. Adepticon is held at the Westin Lombard Yorktown Inn from 19th - 22nd April, while Salute will be taking place at the ExCell Centre in London on the 21st April. If you're attending the Salute event then there is still time to reserve Forge World products before you go. Simply give them a call and their Customer Services team will be more than willing to help you out.

Weekly Finds #75

Knights Who Say Morr by Dave Taylor from Dave Taylor Miniatures - I am a huge fan of Dave Taylor's projects. They each have their own unique character. And this Procession of Morr looks like it will be no different. He has avoided the horrible looking Empire Knight mounts by using the more dynamically posed Chaos Mounts. Can't wait to see what else he will come up with. Hard not to imagine that this will knock his Artillery Train of Nuln dead... especially, with the new release of Empire miniatures.

Imperial Cruisers by James Wappel from James Wappel Miniature Painting - I may not play or own any Battlefleet Gothic but I love the idea behind it and many of the miniatures from the range. James Wappel's own miniatures highlight why I love this range. They are just awesome and despite their small size they are still open to conversions and full of detail. Despite what the poorly painted Games Workshop miniatures suggest. I also love the look of the bases...

Forge World Open Day II by Loken from Apocalypse 40K - These Apothocaries are awesome and will find their way into my collection. Along with the new Assault Marines and the Storm Eagle. I'm not sure how I feel about the new Terminator Mk. It is both cool and too different at the same time... it may grow on me over time. I guess it also depends if the helmets are interchangeable with the current Mk.

Brush Care and Cleaning by Winsor and Newton - One of the guys at my FLGS was asking on Facebook how to go about cleaning his brushes. I've used this article in the past so linked it for him. Also, if you don't want to buy hobby specific products such as this can always use your hair shampoo and conditioner. It is something my partner uses to clean her professional make up brushes.

         We’re now only two days away from the Forge World Open Day on Sunday 1st April, and today we can officially announce that the Space Marine Storm Eagle Assault Gunship will be on sale there in limited numbers! This is the third Forge World post in a week... and they all have things I must have.

Space Marine Storm Eagle Assault Gunship

The legendary mobility of the Adeptus Astartes has won planet-spanning conflicts with a single strike; providing the precise application of deadly force at the point where it proved most decisive. A Chapter’s fleet of attack craft is the keystone that makes this possible, and it is the iconic Thunderhawks and Drop Pods that are at the forefront. Craft such as the Storm Eagle Assault Gunship follow close behind to lend their weapons to the devastating assault. Take my money.

A formidable gunship, the Storm Eagle mounts fearsome firepower for a vehicle of its size and is capable of transporting twenty Space Marines directly into the thick of an assault. The exact provenance of the Storm Eagle is unknown, but it bears clear similarities to the Stormravens employed by the Blood Angels and Grey Knights. This design avoids many of the qualities unpopular with the online community such as the exhaust on the back and the turret mounted up top. Certain sources place the principal manufacture of the Storm Eagle upon Tigrus and Anvilus IX, both primary-grade Forge Worlds that suffered catastrophic damage during the Horus Heresy. Just take the money!

In recent decades the number of Storm Eagles in active service has begun to increase, especially amongst those Chapters known to have favourable relations with the Adeptus Mechanicus. This has lead some observers to believe that production has been restored at an as yet unknown location. Please, take my money.

Designed by Stuart Williamson, the Storm Eagle is a complete resin and plastic kit which is packed with some incredible design work, including a fully detailed interior. It will be available to purchase in limited numbers at the Forge World Open Day on Sunday 1st April, in advance of its scheduled release date, for £80 or approximately 125 AUD. The Storm Raven costs 110 AUD... so relatively this is a bargain.

Forge World Open Day, Sunday 1st April, Warhammer World, Nottingham

It can’t fail to have escaped your attention that this Sunday 1st April is the annual Forge World Open Day.

We are de-camping from our top-secret manufactorum to the Warhammer World hall along with our entire Studio team of designers, graphic artists and writers, who will be bringing a veritable cornucopia of stunning displays, work-in-progress models and unseen future projects.

You’ll be able to chat to the Forge World and Warhammer Forge design teams throughout the day in the Staff Restaurant, and they will be happy to discuss our latest models and books, as well as our exciting plans for the future.

Alan Bligh and Tony Cottrell will be holding two Q&A sessions in our Studio area at which you will be able to ask all your burning questions about the future plans of Forge World and Warhammer Forge. Session 1 runs from 12 noon until 12.45 and session 2 runs from 13.30 until 14.15. Space is limited for these sessions, so ask staff in the Studio area for more details.

In the main hall of Warhammer World will be our huge sales stand, packed to the rafters with resin kits, books and modelling supplies, as well as several exciting pre-release kits and our event only models: the Warhammer 40,000 Imperial Enforcer and Warhammer Skin Wolf.

Neil Wylie from the writing team will be running a Warhammer 40,000 Zone Mortalis participation game throughout the day, and there will also be a Tamurkhan-themed Warhammer game for you to play.

The Open Day Painting Competition will be open for your entries from 10am. Each entrant may only enter once, and your entry should consist of a single Forge World or Warhammer Forge model of any kind. Note that display space may be limited, although this won’t stop you from entering.

We will also once again be holding our Charity Titan Raffle. A mere £1 per ticket will enter you into the draw to win a mighty Imperial Reaver Titan kit worth £571. All proceeds from the raffle will be donated to Children In Need.

Forge World: Newsletter 300

Hi there,
            With the Forge World Open Day only a few days away, we can now reveal details of a brand new Space Marine release that will be available to buy at the event; the Tartaros Pattern Terminator Squad. This detailed, multi-part resin kit is available to pre-order now and will be on sale in limited numbers at the Forge World Open Day on Sunday 1st April – and that’s no joke!

Tartaros Pattern Terminator Squad

Tactical Dreadnought Armour, or Terminator Armour as it is more usually known, is the most resilient form of personal protection available to the Adeptus Astartes. Originally developed during the closing years of the Great Crusade, and adapted from the heaviest of industrial gear, several types and patterns were developed concurrently.

Of these, the Indomitus pattern is perhaps the most widespread, due to its template being held on key Forge Worlds such as Mars, although Tartaros Pattern Terminator armour is also issued to the Veterans of a Chapter’s 1st Company. This will forever be known as the baby contemptor armour. Which isn't a bad thing since the Contemptor is one ducking awesome miniature.

Perhaps the most advanced form of Tactical Dreadnought Armour, the Tartaros pattern shares many systems with the MkIV ‘Maximus’ pattern of power armour, and provides greater mobility for its wearer than the Indomitus pattern with no loss in durability or protection. Not a fan of the cutlass styled power sword pictured above. It doesn't look knightly or even Roman/Greek... so will look out of place in several different Chapters.

The Tartaros Pattern Terminators set, designed by Will Hayes, is a full resin kit that comprises five Terminators, armed with power fists, a power sword, storm bolters, a ducking awesome looking heavy flamer and enough optional attachments to arm four Space Marines with chainfists. This detailed squad will be available to purchase in limited numbers at the Forge World Open Day on Sunday 1st April, and is also available to pre-order now for despatch from 10th April. It is a shame that the standard Terminator Shoulder pads are not compatible with these... will force Forge World to design a complete new range of shoulder pads... assuming that they come separately from the arms.

While some of our intrepid staff are across the pond in the Windy City, others of Forge World will be journeying to London’s ExCel centre for Salute 2012. We’ll be bringing a wide selection of our range of books, resin kits and modelling supplies, but due to the limited space that we have available at this event we recommend you places a reservation order to ensure we have exactly what you want, packed and waiting for you.

As with all our UK shows, Salute reservation orders are pre-paid to make the collection process quicker and easier, leaving you with more time to enjoy the rest of the event.

Please telephone the Customer Service team on 0115 900 4995 to place a reservation order. We will require your name, contact telephone number and e-mail address along with the list of products you wish to reserve, and you will need your card details to hand. We’ll need to receive your Salute reservation by Tuesday 17th April, and we’ll process the payment while you are on the phone. Forge World: Newsletter 299

Hi there,
            We’ve got two amazing new Space Marine releases this week: a Minotaurs Character Set comprising Asterion Moloc and Ivanus Enkomi, and the Space Marine Rapier Laser Destroyer, a powerful weapon perfect for use in Boarding Assault missions or with the new Forge World Zone Mortalis expansion. We’re also now able to announce more information about our Studio presence at the Forge World Open Day to be held here at Warhammer World in Nottingham on Sunday 1st April.

Minotaurs Character Set – Asterion Moloc and Ivanus Enkomi

The name of the bloody-handed and paranoid master of the Minotaurs Chapter, Asterion Moloc, is a byword for slaughter and destruction in the name of the Imperium across a hundred worlds, yet he is also a diligent and disciplined logistician and a master of siege craft. In battle he can most often be found at the head of his 1st Company Terminators, and when not prosecuting a conflict he occupies a brazen throne at the very heart of his flagship, the labyrinthine heavy assault carrier Daedelos Krata. I'm not a huge fan of this miniature. It isn't the pose or the over-the-top detail. Rather it is the approach taken with the Terminator Armour. Bulldog describe the issue I have well in this post... to far removed from what we recognize with Space Marines...

The gaunt and brooding Reclusiarch Ivanus Enkomi became the eyes and voice of his master during the Badab War; an aloof and distant observer at Carab Culln’s war-councils. A paradox, whose red-irised eyes and crimson-tattooed features speak of some feral origin, yet in whose voice lies a capacity for fierce and stirring oratory, Chaplain Enkomi is a skilled tactical commander, most notably during the Loyalist attack on Shaprias that uncovered the black depths to which the Tyrant of Badab’s treachery had sunk. I love this miniature. I must have him in my collection... some may not like the fact he is using his powerfist to wield another power weapon... but to me that just screams over-the-top Space Marine bad-assery.

Asterion Moloc and Ivanus Enkomi, designed by the talented Simon Egan, are incredibly detailed multi-part resin figures available as a set of two models. The set is available to pre-order now for despatch from the 2nd April, and rules for these special characters can be found in Imperial Armour Volume 10: The Badab War Part 2. An amazing read for any Space Marine collector or Warhammer 40K Fanatic.

Space Marine Rapier Laser Destroyer

The Rapier Armoured Carrier is an ancient device, one of many such technological relics of the dawning days of Mankind’s stellar empire. A bulky, armoured track unit, which mounts a powerful antomantic reactor, the Rapier is often armed with a powerful quad lascannon known as a laser destroyer. This has become synonymous with the Rapier Armoured Carrier itself, and the Graia Pattern Rapier Laser Destroyer is perhaps the most common design of this potent anti-tank weapon in use.

The Space Marine Rapier Laser Destroyer is often deployed by many Space Marine chapters, especialy those descended from the Imperial Fists and Iron Hands Legions, and is widely used during Boarding Assaults and in the close and deadly confines of Zone Mortalis. Designed by Mark Bedford and Will Hayes, this multi-part resin kit is supplied with two Space Marine crew in MkIII ‘Iron’ Armour and is available to pre-order now for despatch from the 2nd April. Experimental rules for the Space Marine Rapier Laser Destroyer are available to download from the Forge World website now.

So much potential for this kit. It looks awesome as is... but could do so many other things. The crew could be used for Captains, Veterans or just regular Tactical Marines. Especially the Space Marine pictured up with the unique torso details and helmet. But that Rapier Armoured Carrier could easily be used to carry a Thunderfire Cannon... thus avoiding a big, heavy metal kit that is a complete pain in the arse to build from what I've heard. I think I'll ask SWMBO for 6 of these...

Forge World Open Day, 1st April, Warhammer World, Nottingham

Event Only Imperial Enforcer

The Forge World Event Only model for 2012 is a grizzled Imperial Enforcer, designed by Steve Whitehead. This finely-detail multi-part resin kit contains two figures. The Enforcer, armed with a shock-maul, is clad in light carapace armour adorned with the icons and trappings of Imperial justice, preparing to let slip the Cyber-Mastiff accompanying him; a great and menacing hound-servitor, a canine rebuilt stronger, faster and more resilient by the tech-savants of the Adeptus Mechanicus with adamantium bones, fangs and claws. I must have this miniature... as soon as it hits ebay I'll be getting it. Or I may go to Games Day this year. Be ball-acking awesome if Forge World picked up the Necromunda system and started making miniatures.

Event Only Skin Wolf

The Warhammer Forge Event Only model for this year is a brutal Skin Wolf, designed by Keith Robertson. This detailed multi-part resin model depicts a towering and savage hulk of muscle and rage, howling its bloodlust having slaughtered a hapless Imperial state trooper. The Event Only Skin Wolf is packed with detail, from the stigmata of Chaos branded into its flesh, to the tattered ruin of its victim, and comes supplied with an alternate, empty, left hand for additional modelling options.

These fantastic models will be available to purchase at all of our 2012 events, starting with the Forge World Open Day. We are not accepting Open Day reservation orders for the two Event Only models, and they will be limited to one of each per person on the day as usual.

Forge World Studio Displays at the Open Day

The entirety of the Forge World and Warhammer Forge sculpting teams will be attending the Open Day, showcasing all manner of hidden secrets, work-in-progress models and recent releases. Stuart Williamson, Daren Parrwood, Will Hayes and Phil Stutcinskas have recently been hard at work on a variety of Warhammer 40,000 models of a variously armoured, flying, and walking nature; all these and more will be on display in our Studio area. Meanwhile, Mark Bedford, Edgar Skomorowski, Keith Robertson and Steve Whitehead have been busily designing monstrous additions to our Warhammer Forge range, and rumour has it there may even be some work-in-progress future additions to our Chaos Dwarfs range on display too.

The Book Design team, headed by Paul Rudge, will also be based in the Studio area. Rhys Pugh, Ian Strickland, Kenton Mills and Sam Lamont will be showcasing the process by which an Imperial Armour book is created, and may even be seen working on artwork for future book projects on their advanced cogitator devices. Lead writer Alan Bligh, accompanied by Talima Fox and Neil Wylie, will be on hand to talk about forthcoming books. They may even be tempted into dropping a few hints about mysterious future projects…

There’s still time to place reservation orders for the Forge World Open Day, which is the best way to ensure we have the exact product you want, packed up and waiting for you at the event. As with all our UK shows, Open Day reservation orders are pre-paid to make the collection process quicker and easier, leaving you with more time to enjoy the rest of the event.

Please telephone the Customer Service team on 0115 900 4995 by 6pm on 28th March to place a reservation order. We will require your name, a contact telephone number and e-mail address along with the list of products you wish to reserve, and you will need your card details to hand. We’ll process the payment while you are on the phone, and in the week before the event you’ll receive a confirmation e-mail containing your order number. This is your proof of payment, and you must bring a copy of this e-mail with you to claim your order.

You can download a map of the event from the Forge World Events page. The Open Day runs from 10am to 4pm, and the full range of Warhammer World facilities will be available including snacks and refreshments from Bugman’s Bar.

Weekly Finds #69

Despite my brain being completely fried from work, I've managed to amass a large collection of twelve articles this week. They range from tutorials on sculpting all the way to the correct movement of vehicles. This week also sees the release of the much awaited expansion for both 'Nids and Space Wolves. It looks like I may be collecting a non-mechanised Space Wolf army... time will tell of course.

Servo Skull Collector by Jakob Rune Nielsen from miniaTEXTures - This miniature oozes with individuality. I can just imagine the servo skull collector being right at home in a John Blanche painting. It even has a small shield on his should like many of Blanche's own miniatures.

Forge World: Games Day Chicago '11

Emperor's Scourge has been kind enough to post up a summary on the Bolter & Chainsword of the Forge World seminar from this years Games Day in Chicago. He has been even kinder and possibly broken some rules by recording the seminar by Mark Bedford which can be found on his blog here or on his Youtube Channel here.
